The Stratford Sirens is the high performance women's crew of the Stratford Dragon Boat Club. The team was formed in January of 2000 specifically to race at the Canadian Championships at the Vancouver (Alcan) Dragon Boat Festival on June 17-18, 2000. The original team was made up of members from the two Stratford Dragon Boat Club teams - Hunter Steel Dragons of Steel and The Stratford Metal Products Women's Team.

The Stratford Sirens team is one of three Canadian Club Crew Women's teams that have qualified to race at the Rome, Italy IDBF World Club Crew Championships on September 6-8, 2002. The team has been practicing three to four times per week starting with pool practices back in January and weight training throughout the winter. The team is now training hard outdoors in the boats to prepare for Rome

As well, to off-set the high expense of travel, the team is doing a major fund-raising drive and seeking sponsorship. Anyone interested in helping out the team or individual paddlers should email Wendy Greenwood at .
