The Stratford Dragon Boat Club is a community based club that is open to anyone who wants to learn to paddle. The club will provide coaching to any groups or paddlers that want training and will coordinate the formation of crews if required. The club trains throughout the year with off-season weight training facilities at no cost and paddle pool sessions for $6 per person per session at Stratford YMCA starting in late January each year. The club teams currently owns 2 boats and has an agreement to use other boats from the Rotary Club of Stratford. The club membership portion for the 2013 season fees is $25 per person for a full membership. SDBC membership but does not include the cost of the boat rental and team racing costs. Note that there are other costs associated with the particular teams although some of the teams have sponsorship or fund-raising activities. Club coaches and steerers receive a free membership. The club currently has 3 programs that include Stratford Women (Stratford Metal Products), Twisted Spirits (recreational mixed team) and Stratford Juniors (male and female age 11-18).
